Barbara Lawrence
Coppretta
Hand Hammered Copper

Barbara, from Huntsville, Alabama, uses centuries-old chase and repousse techniques which often employ more than 20 steps to create a single flower. She uses the same patina formula as her great-grandfather, Adrien Dalpayrat, a ceramic artist who worked making lamp bases for Tiffany.

The transparent colored finishes are mixtuers of modern dyes added to a lacquer base, to which interference pigments are added. When completed, each scupture is coated with lacquer to preserve and protect it. Finished works include both sculpted pieces and fountains.

Barbara is currently accepting commissions for heirloom-quality copper sculptures and fountains. Please call her at 256.797.8018 or send her an email for lead time and availability. You may also conact her through Hale Fire Glass.
